The team headed down to Cork to meet with Virgin Media Park’s Ian Dunn and find out about the history of this landmark stadium.
Through The Coop’s collaboration with Sky Ireland, we developed the “believe” campaign with Irish women’s international soccer player, Jessica Ziu.
Jessica began playing football at just five years old and joined Rivermount Boys in Finglas, Co Dublin, where she was the only girl on the team. In this touching video production, we get a sense of what makes Jessica Ziu the great young player that she is. Jessica talks about growing up in Finglas, her connection to the community, the great value she places on her coaches over the years, and the huge gratitude she has towards them.
But most of all, Jessica talks about her love of football, how she grew up playing street football with the boys in her area, coming home with muddy knees, and how she was never without a ball at her feet.
In March 2022 Jessica was signed by English FA Super-League club, West Ham United, so now plays her football in East London. Jessica has also made a big impact in the Irish National women’s team and their bid for qualification for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2023.
As important to the National Lottery as the good causes it supports, and the individuals who win jackpots and make the headlines, are the National Lottery’s shopkeeper partners who keep the show on the road, through ticket sales and small prize pay-outs.
When there’s a big win, however, it’s the shopkeepers’ turn to share some of the spotlight and for their shop to get a slice of the publicity pie.
In this short, and heart-warming video production, we accompany Kamal Ibrahim and a representative from the National Lottery, to meet the amazing shop-owners who have sold jackpot-winning tickets. In this episode we meet Siobhan, who sold a €30.9 Million Euromillions jackpot winning ticket and who welcomed us with tea, coffee and ice-cream!

In this light-hearted video production for Top Eleven, impressionist and comedian, Conor Moore, interviewed José Mourinho… Whilst doing an impression of… José Mourinho.
During the interview Conor shows off some of his other football manager impressions, including a brilliant Jurgen Klopp… Conor concludes the interview by asking his subject if there’s anything he could do to improve his José Mourinho impression. This elicits a surprising response, and offer, from the ‘Special One’.
Believe it or not, the whole video production was shot against a green screen, with one crew in London shooting José Mourinho and another crew shooting Conor at our in-house studio in Dublin. We had live communications between José and Conor throughout, and the whole production was stitched together in post.
We were asked by Tesco to create a series of video productions about the Tesco Community Fund. Launched in 2014, the scheme is a way for Tesco stores to give back to their local communities by donating to good causes.
Every 12 weeks, each Tesco store donates up to €2,000 between three local good causes in its community.
Since 2014, The Tesco Community Fund has supported over 21,000 community projects nationwide - including schools, animal shelters, sports groups, elderly care centres, health organisations and much more - with over €6 million in donations.
In order to make a record this incredible, and largely unsung, local community effort, we went on a road trip across Ireland with Hector Ó hEochagáin to find out about the wonderful causes that the Tesco Community Fund supports and to meet the incredible people who give their time and expertise so selflessly to make those causes happen.
The stories we uncovered and recorded were moving and uplifting, and Hector proved the perfect presenter and host, drawing the very best out of the people he met and interviewed with is natural wit, charm and positive energy.
The Coop is lucky enough to have been engaged on an ongoing basis to film new stories for the Tesco Community Fund, as they unfold.
The challenge for Irish fashion designer, Aoife McNamara was to design and create some Creme Egg inspired outfits that would prevent former Rose of Tralee, now social media guru, Kirsten Mate Maher and Irish Tik Tok star, Nia Gallagher from eating their Cadbury’s Creme eggs.
The resulting video production shows captures the fun and energy of the challenge, taking us from Aoife’s inspiration and conceptualisation through to design and creation. We then see both Kirsten and Nia attempt to eat their Creme Eggs in the cleverly frustrating outfits.
The production is one of many the Coop has worked on for Cadbury to help support the brands ongoing video content programme.
We worked with Catapult and Virgin Media to celebrate the roll out of their 2Gig full fibre broadband across Ireland.
Mr. Walsh can boogie!!!
This is one of our favourite projects that we’ve had the pleasure of working on. Shot by James Mather. Agency FH.
Working with the team in Kingspan we created a gorgeous mix of cgi animation and live action to bring their smoke control systems to life. Shot in our green screen in The Coop Studio we then created a small unfolding world to illustrate the application of smoke control systems.
This project was translated into multiple languages and was rolled out through their global channels.
The Coop travelled the country with Virgin Media to give away some amazing prizes.
We were asked by Gillette, to interview Paul O’Connell, Gillette brand ambassador, about role models.
In the resulting video production, Paul talks, in a typically open way about what it feels like to be identified as a role model and what he thinks that means. Paul explains that initially, feeling like you are a role model can be daunting for some people. It can feel as if you are being “put on a pedestal”.
Paul then goes on to point out that the road to success has good days and bad days and that it’s the experience of both from which wisdom eventually comes. Paul describes how important role models have been to him in his life and reflects on the fact that you can never assume that other people have, or haven’t, got the support they need. Furthermore, that even the most outwardly confident people can be wrestling with low confidence and self-doubt.
Paul goes on to say, speaking from experience, how powerful a positive, authentic word of encouragement from an influential adult can be for a young person starting their journey.
Finally, Paul summarises with his thoughts on what is required from a role model… Showing up, leading by example, and supporting other people to be the best versions of themselves. Powerful stuff.
We created this video production for Kingspan Light & Air (KLA). Working over a number of days on location in Cavan and Dublin, we shot this bright and clean film to bring what KLA is to life and to create a greater understanding of Kingspan’s philosophy and approach.
Kingspan Light & Air designs and produces products and solutions that enhance natural light, fresh air and safety through its smoke control systems in new and existing buildings throughout the world.
KLA is committed to protecting the environment, manufacturing from recycled materials and using renewable energy and harvested water in its zero-waste facilities.
KLA is an international team with over 20 locations worldwide and therefore we needed to translate this video production into multiple languages. This content formed a key part of Kingspan’s global campaign to increase brand awareness.

Dublin Port is Ireland’s largest and busiest freight and passenger port. The port handles an astonishing 50% of ALL trade in the Republic of Ireland.
In 2021 there were over 7,000 ship arrivals and Dublin Port handled almost 35 million Tonnes of throughput… Roughly 21 million Tonnes in imports and 14 million tonnes in exports.
In this video production we create a beautiful vision of life in busy Dublin Port on a typical day. Using time lapse and hyper lapse techniques we see passenger ferries arriving and departing carrying freight, foot and car passengers. We see cruise-liners, the movement of containers by truck and crane and the arrival of huge cargo ships all against the backdrop of big skies and the Dublin mountains.
We teamed up with Fleishmanhillard to document the fascinating and inspiring story of Irish startup EquiRatings and their partnership with SAP.
EquiRatings was co-founded by Eventing rider, Sam Watson and his university friend, Diarmuid Byrne. Inspiration from the startup came from Sam’s frustration at being unable to know, factually, where he ranked in his own sport.
The video production tells the story of how Sam and Diarmuid developed EquiRatings. How they analysed the complex sport of Eventing, with its many variables and moving parts… Horses, riders and three phases of competition: Dressage, Cross Country and Show Jumping and then the variables within that… Speed, jumping accuracy etc.
Ranking had always been a matter of gut instinct… But built on SAP technology and using simulation and predictive scenarios, EquiRating brought statistics and robust data analysis to the table.
And then there’s the human story… Sam describes how he was about to walk away from Eventing, and then how the invaluable insights he gained from EquiRatings gave him new impetus and direction. EquiRatings insights helped Sam understand how he himself ranked in various areas of the sport, and then by focusing his efforts on those areas where he ranked lowest, to improve his performance significantly. Through this focus, Sam went from being ranked in the bottom 10% in Show Jumping to being ranked No.1 in the world and from being a top thirty ranked rider in the sport overall to being the first Irish rider to be ranked in the top ten.

As part of its “Become a Supporter and a Half” campaign and through its joint initiative with Spar, Cadbury supports women’s, football at all levels, grassroots, as well as elite, in a number of different ways.
This lovely video production, made for social and online, tells the story of how Cadbury invited Oughterard AFC to a private coaching clinic at the FAI national training campus in Dublin.
The team was given a tour of the world class facilities at the centre… And then, just as the women were getting changed for their training session, Cadbury surprised them with some ViP coaches… Lucy Quinn, Republic of Ireland National Team player and Katie McCabe, Rebublic of Ireland National Team Captain.
A very valuable and memorable training session for Oughterard AFC with thanks to Cadbury and the stars of the Irish Women’s National Team
Super Troopers is an initiative from Laya aimed at kids and their families. It’s all about promoting a healthy lifestyle, whether that’s through sport, activity and movement, food and nutrition or minding mental health.
There are two main strands to Laya Super Troopers. The first is to encourage schools to register for a ten-week super trooper programme promoting wellbeing for kids and their families and supported by Laya with various printed materials… A participation kit, wall charts etc. The second is Laya Super Troopers TV… An online series that encourages families to live healthier, more active lifestyles.
We worked with the incredible Tamber Media to shoot and post this inspiring video production featuring school kids, their schools, their families and a number of high profile Irish celebrities who are helping promote Laya Super Troopers and health and wellbeing generally.
The Coop is proud to work on an ongoing and regular basis with Dublin Port undertaking various projects… In this good, natured, fun video production we sat a few old colleagues from Dublin Port down for a chat about a unique tradition amongst dockers... Nicknames.
We unearthed a rich vein of humour in the many inventive, quirky nicknames dock workers had come with for each other. Nicknames like The Wicked Chicken, Salt Box, The Goat, Foot and a Half, Big Apple, The great Philosopher… And a particular favourite of the Coop’s “Diesel”… From the tendency for the owner of that particular nickname to say “Diesel do for the wife… Diesel do for the kids”
We found that sometimes nicknames don’t just stick for life… They stick for generations.
We had the immense pleasure of filming a series of incredible plays in Dublin Port’s Pump house. Shot on Arri Alexa by Andrew Cummins and Directed by our very own Francois Gray these incredible plays where shot and streamed during the pandemic.
Each play was a collaboration with a different theatre company and was filmed on location in a single day.
Check out the promos below.
We caught a full dose of taxi banter while being driven the length and breadth of Dublin & Cork cities for MyTaxi’s training App commercial.
We shot a series of videos, but in the video production we’ve featured here, we take a ride with Dublin taxi driver, Kevin Kelly… Kevin tells us how much he loves taxiing and how much the MyTaxi app has changed his life.
Kevin jokes that when his partner calls and says “Are you coming home?” he replies “I’m with my other wife… Who’s that?... My Ford Transit Custom.” He goes on to say how much easier the MyTaxi app has made his life and how good the training was, giving him all the help and support he needed.
He describes how during training it didn’t matter what he needed to ask for help with, the answer was always emailed to him straight away.
Kevin then goes on to talk about how much he loves taxiing and how much freedom it gives him… “I can come and go as I please, I don’t have to answer to anybody. I love it. I love being out on the road… I might get into the car in bad form, but I can guarantee, getting out of it, I’m going to be smiling!”
We had the great pleasure of producing this series for the team at Guns or Knives.
The Coop travelled all the way to sunny Italy with Peroni as part of their ‘House of Peroni’ presents ‘Gusto d’Italia’ (Taste of Italy) series. In this colourful video production, we followed top Irish chef, Aoife Noonan as she sets out to unlock the secrets of Italian desserts.
During the video we watch as Aoife is tutored on the intricacies of Italian desserts by Francesco Mazzei, Master of Taste. We follow Aoife as she learns the secrets of gelati and its myriad flavours, and as she masters the subtleties of pastry making the Italian way.
We discover that Aoife and Francesco, and in fact, Ireland and Italy, share the culinary philosophy that ‘less is more’, and we get a true sense of the passion and patience that goes into making the perfect Italian dessert.
Irish Mushroom expert Bill O'Dea brings us into the seemingly infinite world of Mushrooms and explains their profound impact on the world we live in.
In this short documentary video production commissioned by Dublin Port, we investigate one of the most inhospitable places to work in Ireland’s modern history… Dublin’s diving bell.
‘The Bell’ was used for almost 100 years in the construction and maintenance of Dublin Port and was only gradually phased out in the 1950’s. The bell would be lowered onto the sea bed from a barge and the workers inside the bell would work on the sea bed, digging mud and silt, sinking steel and concrete posts and building new, or repairing existing, structures.
We were lucky enough to interview the last man to work inside ‘The Bell’, Dermod Heron. Dermod describes the bell as a “horrible place” and laughing, suggests that under today’s health and safety law “they’d all be sent to jail!”
By all accounts the bell was a dark, cold, wet, noisy and dangerous place to work. The compression experienced by workers inside the bell meant that their ears could bleed and could even be permanently damaged. Dermod describes the bell as being “tough going” and adds “You didn’t want to be a soft character!”
The bell has now been turned into a unique museum and interpretive centre, immortalising its inventor, Bindon Blood Storey and the brave men who toiled inside Dublin’s diving bell.
We’ll leave the last words, however, to Dermod… “When you look back on it, it really was a very primitive setup. My fondest memory was getting out of it…. Getting home!”
The team returned to Limerick to hang out with Paul O’Connell for Gillette.

Pat Lynch spent 40 years collecting items from 1850-1950 for his personal museum in Youghal in Cork. The Coop created a little film about the collection and his life’s work.
About our production
In this short, but revealing, video production we interview multi-all-Ireland winning Camogie star Aisling Thompson. We get under Aisling’s skin by looking at what’s on her skin… We quickly develop a sense of the real Aisling Thompson as she takes us through her top five tattoos. Each tattoo has meaning for Aisling and she explains how they tell a story about what’s important to her in life… Her sporting successes, her family, the fierce, hard edged side of Aisling that she brings to her sport and to competition, versus the softer side of her personality.
About Aisling Thompson
Aisling Thompson began playing camogie for her local club Milford, in County Cork at the age of six. With them she won three All-Ireland Senior Club Camogie Championships. After progressing to play for her county, Cork, Aisling helped them to win the Senior All-Ireland County Championship four times: in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018.
Aisling fought her way back from serious injury after sustaining severe muscle damage to her neck and back in a car accident in 2009.
Aisling is known for her work with various charities, including the Irish Life Health School’s Fitness Challenge and has been a vocal and positive speaker on mental health issues over the years.

The Coop developed a video with Deloitte to showcase the use case of Drones within the energy sector.
The two key attributes which support the solution are:
The objectives of the video were to showcase:
1. Autonomous and standardised flight routes of drones around wind turbines. The pre-programmed flights use GPS, which results in recurring exact points of image capture over the lifetime of the asset.
2. Cognitive visual recognition services for image processing. Each service is trained to a specific set of characteristics. The longer the service is used and trained, the more accurate it becomes.
It was incredibly challenging to capture a drone with a drone in a very difficult flight area but the results speak for themselves.
